The NMMF returns to the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) in 2024 – Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Welcome to SEWE 2024! The NMMF is thrilled to return to the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) after a successful debut last year. Here is your comprehensive guide to the events the NMMF will be participating in and hosting for this year’s expo.

We have three great opportunities for you to experience NMMF science: 

The Dolphin Doctor Field Laboratory and Dolphin Doctor Experience are free to the public. The Women in Conservation panel and reception require a SEWE admission ticket. See the official SEWE website for details, or purchase tickets at the event venue.

Dolphin Doctor Experience

Presentation for the Public in Marion Square

The NMMF brings you our interactive Dolphin Doctor workshop, shedding light on marine mammal medicine, science, and technology, as well as its applications to the conservation of marine mammals globally. This engaging demonstration walks the audience through a typical dolphin health assessment.

Women in Conservation Panel & Reception Event

Learn about the contributions, challenges, and standout achievements of trailblazing women in the field of conservation in an enlightening panel discussion, Women in Conservation: Wildlife Heroes of the Land, Sea and Sky. Guided by guest speaker Julie Scardina, the panel features distinguished conservationists including Dr. Forrest Gomez (NMMF), Amy Kight (Busch Wildlife Sanctuary), and Mandy Feavel (Center for Birds of Prey / Aviation Conservation Center). 

Following this insightful panel, we extend a warm invitation to join us at the Women in Conservation Reception, hosted by the NMMF. This is a unique opportunity to connect with these inspiring conservation heroes in person and delve deeper into their impactful work.

Admission tickets for SEWE are required for entry. Enjoy a complimentary charcuterie spread as you attend the Women in Conservation Reception. Wine and other beverages will be available for purchase.
